Billy will be illustrating with powerpoint pictures, showing some of the places he visited as part of his chaplaincy studies. Deliberately avoiding the well-known places like hospitals and prisons, He will focus on the places you might not expect to see a chaplain; football clubs, racecourses, exhibition centres, shopping malls, airports, docks and others.

He will attempt to answer the questions about what the church thinks it is doing and what the business and sporting world get out of chaplaincy. Anecdotes from my own experience help to earth the presentation for people

This will be an interesting and thought provoking view on the spiritual and personal side of chaplaincy.

Its worth remembering the 1970 play ‘Zigger Zagger’ by Peter Terson where there was a speech by ‘I am the football fan vicar..’ – it shows the basis of chaplaincy in football clubs’…

You can come or watch and ask questions by zoom. Let me know if you need any help. The talk will be available for bone fide members after the meeting. Let me know if you want to see it on video afterwards.

We understand the realities of COVID and the variants is still present and it should be treated with respect, so for those that want to isolate or reduce the risk we will be transmitting the meeting via Zoom as well.
